Changes in PhunJump V1.3F

Summary

  • New Siena version contained in package.
  • Help line written using smaller font.

Details

  • There is a Siena version that is functionally identical to the Series 3c/mx version. The only difference is related to the smaller screen size of the Siena. The active tasks are shown in one instead of two columns.
  • The help line is written using the smaller Swiss 8 font to make it appear less dominant.

Changes in PhunJump V1.2F

Summary

  • You can now close applications from the task list.
  • New function to update the list.
  • System screen no longer shown in list.

Details

  • SHIFT-DELETE sends a close request to the selected task. This is done by sending an "X" command string. If the application honours system requests it should eventually stop. The "X" command is NOT the same as the system screen Psion-X, which will terminate the application whether is is listening for commands or not.
PhunJump will wait a 1/2 second to give the application a chance to terminate before refreshing the task list. The application will still be shown on the list should it need more time to stop. DON'T send another close request but use the update function (SPACE, see below) instead.
If an application is still running after some refreshes, switch to it. It might be that the application is showing a dialog or menu and may not be able to listen to commands right now. Use the application's normal way to close it.
  • The SPACE key will update the list immediately. This is especially useful after sending a close request to an application that needs some time to close.
  • The system screen will no longer be shown in the list of active tasks. The main reason being that using the SHIFT-DELETE function on the system screen is equal to a soft reset of the machine. This is not at all desirable.
Instead of doing special checking in the SHIFT-DELETE function I decided to remove the entry from the list. You can always reach the system screen thru the system button (and this is even shorter).
